WHAT IS HBA1C?

The A1c test—also known as the hemoglobin A1c or HbA1c test—is a simple blood test that measures your average blood sugar levels over the past 3 months.

It helps to diagnose prediabetes and diabetes and also helps manage diabetes.

INTERPRETATION OF A1C:


It is best to get a baseline A1c test at age 45 or sooner if you are overweight, have a history of gestational diabetes or have a parent or sibling with type 2 diabetes.
